Missed Team NJ Practice

I went to a funeral for my great Aunt Ida in Woodbridge, NJ. After the funeral, we went back to Aunt Ida's house for a get together.

Swim Practice with the Marlins

On Sunday December 6, 2009 I went to Freehold to swim with the Marlins at the YMCA of Western Monmouth County. There were a lot of swimmers and 12 coaches and the Head coach Carol McMullen. First we stretched and then we swam many laps. I felt sore when I got home.

The First Practice 11-29-09

Today was our first team practice at the Ocean City Aquatic and Fitness Center. I was looking forward to today's practice with the Special Olympics NJ Swim Team. Only five of the six swimmers came to practice. First we learned some stretches on a mat. Then we got our bathing suits on and we started swimming. We swam laps to warm up. We swam "a lot" of freestyle laps, some back stroke and a lap of butterfly. Then we practiced diving. I am working on my dive to push out with my legs so I can dive better. I practiced diving into a hula hoop. We practiced for two hours. I was sore and tired after it was over.

Meeting The NJ Aquatics Team

11/21/09 All of the athletes selected to be on Team NJ met at Special Olympics of NJ in Lawrenceville. I met my coaches on the aquatics team. There are six swimmers. We scheduled our swimming practices for the first month. A photographer took pictures of all of the swimmers. We got measured for our uniforms.
